What are your In-home Care Rates?
Our rates are based upon the length of visit and the specific needs of each client. To get a specific quote or to schedule a free no obligation assessment, please contact us.
How Does Live In Care Work?
Depending on the length of a live in, Tender Hearts Senior Care will usually provide 2-3 caregivers throughout the week. These caregivers usually do 2-4 day shifts. Live-ins can be a wonderful alternative to a facility if the client is sleeping well at night. The caregivers bond with the client and become a part of the family. You can rest assured that your loved one is getting the best care possible!
Do you require a service contract or charge more for an increase in services?
There’s no contract for Tender Hearts Senior Care. That means you can use our caregivers only as long as you’re 100% satisfied. There is a simple 1 page service agreement spelling out our rates and services.
How do I know my caregiver will be trustworthy?
You can enjoy peace of mind knowing that all of our caregivers are rigorously screened for honesty and integrity. We only hire the most responsible and qualified caregivers who have a minimum of two years of verifiable experience and references. Furthermore, we conduct thorough background checks — including local, state and federal criminal records, DMV checks and social security traces. Tender Hearts Senior Care and our caregivers are also fully bonded, insured and covered by workers compensation insurance.
Will the same caregiver come each day/shift?
Our goal is to establish a long-term match between client and caregiver, and to keep the same caregiver with a client as long as the client is satisfied. We call this “Continuity of Care”. This is based upon our experience that developing a strong rapport and trust with your caregiver is a vital component to a successful home care experience. At Tender Hearts Senior Care we will introduce 2-3 caregivers so that we can find the perfect one for the client. This process then allows us to have an alternate caregiver available in case there is an emergency. In short, we want to avoid the “revolving door” of caregivers.
Do I get to meet the caregiver in advance?
Yes. You are actively involved (as much as you want to be) in the selection process. Tender Hearts Senior Care we will arrange a meet and greet with the caregiver when we start helping your loved one. By using our proprietary screening and selection systems, we take the guesswork out of the process and handle all the legwork of matching the right caregiver(s) with each client. However, we will never send a caregiver whom you are not satisfied with and we will accommodate any request for a change that you may have.
Furthermore, we encourage every client and authorized representative of the client to be as involved as possible in this decision-making process. If a change needs to be made, we’ll handle all the coordination and make the necessary phone calls.
Can your caregivers provide transportation?
Yes. Our caregivers can drive to doctor’s appointments, senior centers or any place. If driving your vehicle, there’s no extra charge to your hourly or daily rate. If you require the caregiver to drive his or her own vehicle, you’re simply billed a standard mileage rate to cover fuel and wear and tear.
In addition, we can offer your loved one our Transportation Services if they need stretcher or wheelchair access. Our drivers are “Caregivers on Wheels”.
Do you accept long term care insurance?
Yes. Long term care insurance covers most home care expenses, up to your policy’s daily limits. However, Medicare, Medicaid or other health insurance plans do not cover home care, since our duties are non-medical. For former US servicemen/servicewomen, the Veterans Administration Pension Plan offers a home care benefit called the “Aid & Attendance” pension. Ask us for more information.
Does live in care mean the caregiver moves into the home?
No. Live-in does not mean move-in. Each caregiver only brings a small bag for his or her daily needs. All they require is a bedroom in the home where they can sleep 8 hours, with a minimum of 5 hours uninterrupted. This ensures that our caregivers are fully rested and alert to attend to their clients’ needs the rest of the day. For clients who require continuous, 24-hour monitoring or assistance, relief shift or alternative arrangements are available. Remember this service type is not billed hourly and is instead billed by the day and is an affordable alternative to living in an assisted living facility.
What kind of Services do you provide?
2 types: Companion Care and Personal Care services are designed to take over or assist in the activities that elders need to be able to stay at home safely and with dignity. These may include fall prevention, medication and fluids reminders, light housekeeping, grooming or bathing assistance, bathroom assistance, personal hygiene help, meal preparation and clean up, laundry help, and running errands.
Do you provide services in assisted and independent living facilities?
We call this Shared Care and we partner with a few selected communities. People sometimes discover that the assistance provided in an assisted living facility is not enough to enable them to remain independent. In these cases, Tender Hearts Senior Care provides a person to make this possible.
How quickly can services be provided?
Services can usually be provided the next day following our Free Assessment. In the event of an emergency, we can start in 2 hours or less based on necessity. We are very responsive to your needs!
Can I change the schedule if I have appointments or days off?
Changes are easily accomplished with as little as 2 hours notice. Our philosophy is to make the schedule work for the family. You come first. Your needs, your requests, your schedule. We will do everything possible to make sure the schedule you want is the schedule you get.
